So long AFCU PO Box….

Effective June 1, 2014 Advantage FCU will be saying goodbye to their PO Box address.

What does that mean? All mail needs to be addressed to 1975 Buffalo Road, Rochester NY 14624.

And we mean everything, please.

Not mailing anything to us? There are still a couple of things you need to do:

  1. If you have a car loan or home loan with us, you need to notify your insurance company of this change.
  2. If you use Online Bill Pay, please make sure that you update AFCU addresses on those accounts.

If you have any questions please call us at 585.454.5900.

Thank you for your patience during this transition.

Update: Advantage Reacts to Target Data Breach

January 23, 2014

UPDATE: In an effort to protect you and the credit union due to the Target data breach between November 27th and December 15th- We have sent replacement Debit/ATM Cards to those who used their debit card in this time frame.

AFCU will be terminating the use of compromised Debit/ATM Cards Friday, January 24th.

If you have already replaced your debit card at one of our branches, please shred the mailed replacement card and use the card you already have.

In reaction to the announcement by Target of a debit and credit card data breach, Advantage Federal Credit Union is taking action to preempt further compromises to its members debit and credit cards.

December 19, 2013

Advantage offers e-alerts for debit and credit transactions that are sent by either e-mail or text alert.  “These alerts occur in real time so that our members are immediately informed of a transaction that they did not authorize” says Jeff Bocach, President and CEO.  Bocach also stated “We also instant issue debit cards in all of our branches for new and replacement debit cards so that there literally is no waiting if a member experiences a problem.”

E-alerts for debit, credit, ATM, and other services were initiated by Advantage in reaction to a number of local and national data breaches at merchants in the past,  as an effort to keep members as well informed as possible and as close to an actual event as possible.  The Target issue prompted Advantage to increase its member awareness about the protections that are available to them.
