Stay secure with these four quick tips

Stay secure with these four quick tips

Digital scams are getting more sophisticated. Keep your information secure and stay safe online with these easy tips.

1) If someone unknown is asking for your personal info

Don't share personal information like your card numbers, account details, or one-time codes via social media, text message, email, or a phone call. Examples include text messages for unpaid tolls or issues with USPS package delivery, or your one-time verification code.

2) If someone is claiming to be tech support or from a government agency

Tech support and government agencies like the IRS and Social Security do not call and ask for money via gift cards, personal details, or one-time codes. Remember that scammers can fake phone numbers. Never give someone you don’t trust access to your device.

3) If someone requests an unusual method of payment

Be cautious if anyone asks you to pay via gift cards, wire transfers, crypto, or payment apps. Don't share gift card codes, one-time codes, account details, or any other personal information.

4) If you are using a new Wi Fi source

Unsecured or fake networks can capture your passwords or personal information. Always make sure you are using your device’s data plan, a personal mobile hotspot, or a secure network.
